❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How is exact age calculated?
The calculator counts full years from your birthday to today. Then it counts the remaining full months, then the remaining days, and finally the remaining hours, minutes and seconds. This avoids the pitfall of simple division (e.g. dividing total days by 365.25) which can be off by days around birthdays.
How many days old am I?
Enter your date of birth above and click Calculate. The "Total Days" card shows the exact number of days you have been alive. A 30-year-old is approximately 10,957 days old (accounting for leap years).
What is the 10,000 days milestone?
Your 10,000th day alive is a rare mathematical milestone — it occurs at roughly 27 years and 4–5 months old depending on your birth date and how many leap years you've passed through. Many people celebrate it as a "deca-milli" birthday.
When is my 1 billionth second alive?
One billion seconds is approximately 31.69 years. You can find your exact 1 billionth second date in the Milestones section after calculating your age. It falls a little after your 31st birthday for most people.
Does this calculator account for leap years?
Yes. All calculations use actual calendar dates, so leap years (29 February) are automatically accounted for. If you were born on 29 February, your birthday is treated as 28 February in non-leap years for milestone calculations.
